Cab Pass Program
If you've ever wanted to ride in the the cab of a real steam locomotive on the high iron, now is your chance! The Cab Pass Program on the Sumpter Valley Railroad lets you get up close and personal with one of our two vintage steam locomotives, as well as interact with the engine crew. Price includes your round trip train ticket which means that participants get to ride one-way in the locomotive cab, and return on board the passenger train. As a bonus, participants also receive a one-year GENERAL or JUNIOR membership in the Sumpter Valley Railroad.
Maximum cab riders:
#3 Heisler: one adult -------- #19: 2 riders, child accompanied by adult ------- #720 diesel: 2 riders
The Cab Pass Program is available on most weekend trains. Cab passes are first come first serve. Please wear closed toe shoes. Hearing protection is available on request.
