The Sumpter Valley Railroad is open on select weekends and major holidays. Round trips from McEwen usually take just over two hours, including a layover in either McEwen or Sumpter. Some weekends we run short round trips from Sumpter depot that take about 45 minutes. There are also many special events throughout the season. We are wheel-chair accessible (except the caboose). |

GREAT NEWS!
A major milestone for SVRR was reached in May of 2024 with the completion of the Ronald O. Harr Archive and Library Building at McEwen. The building is a significant investment in our future. We believe this facility will help us to achieve our mission of historic preservation and education. With the help of grants and donations, along with SVRR's own funds, we now have a stand-alone, climate controlled, facility in which to store, catalog, and begin to utilize our evergrowing collection of photographs, maps, documents and other memorabilia. It will also serve as a place in which to hold meetings, conduct educational presentations, and do historical research.
